It is true that there are many pitfalls that need to be avoided (some very costly!), but just as there are common mistakes that first-time exporters make (and many experienced exporters!), so too are there common solutions that will help companies to avoid these.
Having worked with several hundred exporters, assisting them to successfully export to new markets, Handel Export has come up with a series of what we perceive to be the most common exporter mistakes and tips on how to avoid these. We will profile these in our next blogs over the following days and weeks.

Doing business in Russia
Posted by: | CommentsIn recognition of the substantial opportunities identified in Russia for Northern Ireland exporters, the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Doing Business in Russia seminar in conjunction with the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC). Russia is one of the world’s richest markets, and is currently ranked the world’s eleventh largest economy.
The event is sponsored by Invest NI under its Passport to Export programme and will act as a pre-cursor to the first Invest NI trade mission to Moscow and St Petersburg in September 2009. The seminar is being held on Thursday 2nd April at Invest NI HQ, Bedford Street, Belfast from 09.30 – 12.30. If you are interested in attending this event you can register here.
From Bucharest to Belfast

On Monday 23rd March 2009 Handel Export will be facilitating a visit by representatives of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign trade to Belfast. The Ministry of Foreign trade will be represented by Mr Mircea Toader, Director General for Europe and will be accompanied by representatives form the commercial department of the Romanian Embassy in London. The purpose of the visit is to build trading links with Northern Ireland. It is hoped that this visit will be a precursor to future incoming business delegations from Romania, giving the the opportunity to meet and establish trading links with Northern Ireland companies. Romania joined the EU on the 1st January 2009 and has excellent opportunities across a wide range of industry sectors. Read More→
