Northern Ireland’s newly appointed Honorary Consul for Slovenia, Suzanne Hill, is set to attend a global political conference, Bled Strategic Forum 2010 in Slovenia from the 29^th – 30^th August.  The event is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Centre for European Perspective. The theme for the two day event is ‘The Global Outlook for the Next Decade’.

With high ranking representatives from the BRIC countries – Brazil, Russia, India and China in attendance, panel discussions will explore the factors that are contributing to these countries’ significant economic growth.  Their experience will be augmented with insight from individuals linked to the League of Arab states, Canada, and the European Union. Former US Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will give the keynote address at the Forum’s opening dinner.
